If they are the scripts I heard about, they were meant to be used with logic 8
and there was way too many hoops to jump through to get the thing up and
running in my opinion.

You'll need ProTools hardware to use ProTools. In other words, you cannot run
ProTools through your laptop's sound card. This is how Protools works.
