before. Very frustrating. If you should figure out what the secret is, please
tell us about it, as I’d love to have the choice again to use an alternative

I use virtual box on Yosemite on a daily basis but not el capitan
Virtual box is ok but it has some little painfull glitchs such as voiceover
disables automatically when you start up the Virtual box application.
And therefore you can't get to the menus
Sorry this is in the Virtual
I haven't played with it a whole lot but the free VirtualBox supposedly
lets you do everything from terminal so it might be worth playing around
in. Won't cost you anything but time to try.
