another way to put alias’s to the desktop is to use shortcut command control a
so by going to whatever folder you want! just use that shortcut, one of the
many way to do things on the mac.

find the easiest for me was heading to the iCloud Drive and opening the desktop

When you select a folder in the Finder, you cam jump to the window
with a VO j. Or command shift d to open the Desktop window.

I am not Tim. One way is to press CMD + Shift and D keys. This will put you in
a window that will be the Desktop. Another way is CMD + H to hide the App you
are in this should put you on the desktop provided there are no other windows
