The general consensus is that the Passwords app provided by Apple is good
enough as long as you stay in the Apple environment. It will work on Windows
and Chrome also but I am not sure how well.

third-party password manager.
In this case, the Mac/iOS Password app is an excellent choice.
It offers benefits that go beyond Safari.
