I'd add that, if your mouse pointer isn't set to follow your VoiceOver cursor,
you should first move the mouse to VO's focus with vo-cmd-f5. To check what's
under the mouse (if clicking doesn't do what you expect), use vo-f5.

To perform a standard mouse-click with VoiceOver enabled, use key-combo
Shift+VO-Key+Space-Bar.
I suggest that you first press both the Shift and VO-key, then tap the space
bar to perform the mouse click.
