from Firecord www.firecore.com on your Apple TV. From there, you can use
shares with Samba (windoww) AFP (Apple) or Linux (NFS). The media player

Apple Tv so it works. I believe, though, that if the Mac was turned off or did
not have iTunes running, this configuration may not work. I'm not 100%

I believe that the Apple TV requires Home Sharing to be able to pull things
from the local network. Music and other media that is purchased through Apple
and thus stored in iCloud can also be streamed to the Apple TV but I'm pretty
sure that regular sharing is not compatible due to the met
