Thanks, Tim. I'll probably change it this weekend, when I have more time to
mess with it if something goes wrong.
Cheers,
Donna

Hi,
I'm not sure if it really matters. It might depend on how modern your ISP
router is. Some claim to be modern state of the art devices, but are no
better, or even less modern than the Extreme. I have my ISP in Bridge mode and
my Extreme doing the DHCP & NAT routing. Mostly because I don'
Hi!
Are there any recommendations on how to configure the airport extreme?
Is it better to have the airport in bridge mode and the isp router set to nat
or vice versa?

Hey Simon,
I think it wants that change because it's connected to my provider's equipment.

Hi donna,
Re the speed I'm not sure of but as for the change from TCp-IP to bridge,
That makes no sense to me.
TCP is related to where your device gets the IP address for the devices on the
network,
Bridge is more a device in the middle of the system.

Thanks Jonathan. I may try moving the Airport down to the first floor. there's
really no reason for it to be upstairs, that's just where we put it.

Thanks, Tim. I will change the Airport to Bridge mode. When I checked the speed
check, both the HomePod and sonos were playing. They are both on the first
floor, while the Airport is on the second floor.

If the Bridged mode is what I think it is, it is probably because your ISP is
using NAT and then your AIRPORT Extreme is using NAT. In some circumstances
mostly when attempting to use VPN software, this double NATTING can cause
problems. If you switch the AIRPORT to Bridged mode, then all of you
Hi,
For #1, it all depends on the location of the HomePod with respect to the
Extreme. If it's in a different room, separated by a wall then that can affect
the signal. Distance away from the Extreme can also affect the level of
signal. Your HomePod will be connecting using the 5 GHz channel
