I upgraded to Safari 4 beta and the problem vanished. (Kids, don't try
upgrading vital organs at home! ;-) )

this is not the case for me. I regularly hold down my vo keys and it
only happens on certain sites.

Hey alex, thanks for the prescription, but unfortunately, I think I
may have had an idiosyncratic reaction to this one! lol!
I.E. I usually surf with my VO keys locked, and this doesn't seem
to make a diff.
