HI Teresa,
I tried a VO search for video but only came across links to other videos etc.
NO video area or anything I could interact with. Perhaps some of my settings
aren't configured properly for HTML5, or perhaps Google is mistaken when it
tells me I'm subscribed to the HTML5 trial. Thanks fo
Try doing a VO search on the video page for "video". You should run into an
element that says "video element controller". Interact with this, and you
should find the controls.

Thanks guys.
I went to the HTML5 youtube site and it told me I was already automatically
signed up for the HTML5 trial, and only gave me the option to unsubscribe.
However, I still can't see any play/pause controls for youtube videos.
Does the click-to-plugin alert you when there is flash conte
This is correct, if it starts playing automatically it's fine, but the
flash controls and content will not read. Adobe has made it clear they
have no interest in fixing this on the mac. One thing you can do in the
case of youtube, go to http://youtube.com/html5

Hi. Click-to-plugin is very configurable. It has a set of preferences that can
be configured. For example, you can use a hot key to allow flash on a specific
domain. Also, it substitutes many players with HTML5.
There are things I can get to play with flash, and click-to-plugin has enabled

Thanks, that does sound like a good tip. I'll try it. Hopefully it wont block
plugins I actually use.
So, am I right to conclude that apart from flash players that are controlled by
HTML controls and players that load automatically like youtube, flash movies

It does not disable most things, the only thing I've seen it disable is flash,
and, when plug ins are disabled, some sites will give you an html version of
the content, which is much more accessible.

Hmm. I thought this would disable plugins like QuickTime as well and
would stop Safari from playing mp3s and such in the browser. Just tried
it and everything seems to play fine. Nice.

If you don't want to install an extension, there's another way, I use
this method. Unless you know you're going to be using flash, uncheck
the option under security to enable plug ins, this makes pages load
much faster. Then, if something requires flash, enable plug ins and
refresh the page.

Dunno about the Seratec Network but I know a lot of folks use the
ClicktoFlash plugin to block flash from loading on pages. Seems to speed
things up quite a bit. Then if you really do want Flash to load you can
tell it to allow flash to load on that page. I don't know of anything

Thanks, CB. That makes a lot of sense. I probably heard something about how
flash is built-in to Chrome and misunderstood or got mixed up somewhere and
stored the information as flash being accessible with Chrome.
I wish more people used those HTML controls for flash playback.
