Hi,
I'm using Snow Leopard, I reset my VO settings to no avail. I've never had it
make a noise for secure edit fields since I've had my Mack. But if I was going
to "Start from scratch" wouldn't I need sighted help?

Coming into the middle of this thread, I have to assume you all are running
SNow Leopard and if not, you will not hear those sounds. Otherwise, has nothing
to do with the type of keyboard you are using. Finally you may try resetting VO
back to the defaults or you can kill the VO preference files
It's the same way in some spps. Like the back blaze app you don't hear any key
clicks at all.
Take care.

Cortney, I find that your mileage may vary when it comes to typing in
passwords on webpages. Some sites envoke the clicking sounds while typing and
some don't. Some even seem as though they generate the clicking sounds on
every other key press. Hope that helps!

Hello; I have a regular macbook from may of 2008, and it has never
made any noise when typing in the secured fields. I have wondered
about it. I wish there was a fix. I generally just press command a
and delete to make sure the field is empty and then type the
characters; but it is a bi
Weird. Try resetting VO to default settings then.

Hi,
That's quite odd, mine doesn't, could that be due to the fact that I have a USB

It should do it automatically, at least it does for me. I don't even know how
to turn it off if even possible.
