Have you accidentally flicked the silent / vibrate switch on the side of the
phone next to the volume keys?

You probably hit the vibrate switch by accident it should be switched towards
the screen and not the back of the phone

when I tap on the screen I do not get the "blip" noise I used to get,
and also when I press the volume up or down keys they don't beep with
