Thanks, Annie.
I've downloaded it now and will hopefully get around to trialling it soon.
Looking forward to it.
Cheers,

Hi.
I have not used footnotes. Nisus has made some great ways to navigate through
the headings you have set, it is really easy to navigate in my opinion. To make
entries to a table of content is very easy, and can be done in about 2 minutes,
if you know what to search for.
Nisus will work on V
HI Jürgen,
I've never had the jumping around issue myself. I have had the issue you
mention regarding VoiceOver reading the end of previous lines etcetera.
However, I only seem to have it when I change direction from going down to up,
or up to down. A similar thing happens while reading by word
Hello Esther and everyone,
Well, I've sent Accessibility my bug report again and saw that it was almost
exactly two years ago that I sent the first one. I pointed out that this is
annoying many French Mac users as it affects the pronunciation of words
containing accented letters. I'll just have

Hi Jürgen, Anne, and Others,
I also generally keep my mouse cursor set to ignore other cursors for more
stable behavior, unless I'm working in an app with transitioning accessibility,
where having the cursors track can help in the navigation. Anne, I'm surprised

Hello Anne,
I agree that one can have the impression you described below.
Fortunately There are no issues concerning german umlauts, not yet on the Mac.
There are issues in iOS. Since version 6 VO can't read umlauts anymore and
nothing happened so far to solve it.
Yes I've already tried to pla
Hello Jürgen,
For the jumping around problem, have you tried turning cursor tracking off or
setting the mouse cursor to ignore the other cursors?
Do you also find that in Preview, letters with an umlaut have the umlaut
separated from the letter? This is a problem with accented letters in French
Hi Nicholas,
at first: I'm using Preview in OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion and it's a
catastrophy. I'm really experienced how to use programs on the Mac but I can't
understand why some people in this list say it's good to use. I also discussed
the issue with an Apple Senior Adviser and he confirmed
It does sound great.
I'm actually now really happy with Preview, thanks to a few people on this
list. It does everything I could want in a PDF reader. Even working with
properly marked tables of contents. VoiceOver reads perfectly by line, word or
character. I guess it doesn't read well by para

Hi Nicholas,
I'm not yet totally familiar with all the functions of Nisus. But what I can
say: footnotes apear in a separate window to which you have access by simply
stop interacting with the text area and interact with the footnote area next to
it. In the text VO will anounce the footnote numb
That's how I experience Nisus Writer. In a german Apple mailing list right now
a member wrote Nisus should also open PDF quite well. He wrote Nisus transforms
the file into rtf and you can work with it. He's quite excited about the pdf
functionality of Nisus. I couldn't try it out yet because on
This sounds great. Does VoiceOver read out the footnotes as well as letting you
insert them? And how well does VoiceOver work with the footnotes? Is it
difficult but do-able, or simple and straight forward?
Is it possible to navigate by heading, page or chapter? Is it possible to go to

Hi Phil.
I love using nisus rather than pages, maybe pages is accessible enough, but I
better understand how to do things in nisus writer pro. A nice feature you can
easily mark chapters and afterwards create an epub book.
I hope tables will be accessible in nisus writer pro in the future, they
It sounds a little more accessible than pages, or at least with less of a

Hi Phil,
Nisus Writer is quite accessible. Of course you can forget about tables but
beside of that, it works fine as far as I can see. Headders, foot- and endnotes
and even automatically created index works. VO doesn't recognizes the headders
as such but the visual style is different from the
I'm wondering how accessible this feature rich app is? I understand that VO
with Pages has certain limitations in areas of tables and reading text
attributes.
What I need is a word processing app that can handle at a minimum, headers and
footers, text styles and attributes, and hopefully headi
