I think that setting might be set by default, I'm still using my gmail from
when i installed it and never new about that setting until this thread was
brought up!
So if you have not gone in to compose in the tool bar that setting might be set
that way for you!

Ricardo is right you might want to look at the compose button inside the tool
bar of preferences you can set it to cc yourself!
Otherwise Annes suggestion could be the one!

This is far from a dumb question. However, I have the answer for you.
The problem is with GMail. If you send your message through a different SMTP
server rather than the GMail one, you'll see your own messages, but when you
send through the GMail SMTP server, you don't.

but confirmed that google's MTA is fairly smart and filters them for you.
I believe comcast's business exchange services do something similar but
typically you're correct and you should see your posts.

I think it might be a gmail setting. But I believe you can have apple mail CC
yourself if you don't want to hunt for the option in gmail. Go to mail prefs
and look under compose.

it is a list setting. I am a member of some lists where you email comes back at
you so I think it's a list setting but I could be wrong.
