Okay. First, when you want to select files noncontiguously for you just
follow the ragular procedure. Click the sound menu open and from there, click
join files. There's a button which is unlabled and which, when you press it,
brings you in to the customary browser window you're used to. Ma
Thanks Ray,
I do have a question as I just tried to do this. When you drag and drop files
into the area of Amadeus under the join files action, can you drop an entire
folder or must they be dropped individually?
Further, can you select a bunch of contiguous files then mark them for drag and
After one test, I think this app will be exactly what I was looking for when I
posted my question. It does what it says on the box: takes your files, and
makes them into an Apple-compatible audio book (M4B file) complete with
chapters and optional parts. Well worth the $5, assuming it keeps doin
It should work out if you do not mind the job of building each book
the way you want it. No gotchas in this app. I did not choose to send
completed jobs straight into iTunes or even into the Automatically Add
folder, I like a bit more control over things.

Thanks, I'm downloading this app now. It looks promising, provided it proves to
be accessible. Any major gotchas I should know going into this?

I should have specified that, beyond simply joining the files end to end, I
want to preserve chapter navigation. Each track in the playlist should be its
own chapter, ideally. I'd also like to avoid re-encoding these files, as
they're already MP3, not uncompressed, raw audio.

Amadeus Pro would do exactly what you want to do, and that very nicely.

Audiobook Builder by Splasm is $5. I have not really had a chance to
check out what I did so far but think this will do what you want. The
price is right too.

that’s exactly what I’m trying to do as well, have these multiple mp3 files
join into 1 larger file that can be played as the book it is. Can’t wait to see
if this can be done easily.
I was looking at joining the files using Amadeus Pro and may still do that

All,
I just remembered I have some audio dramas floating around, each as around 20
chapters meant to be played gaplessly back to back. Is there a simple way of
making them into a single file that iOS, iTunes, and/or Voice Dream would see
as a single book? I'd prefer iOS/iTunes to VDR, just becau
Initially it won't have any windows until you choose New Audio Recording
from the File menu.
