OK, two more things to try. Have you repaired permissions? And maybe resetting the PRAM would help. To reset the PRAM, shut down the computer, then hold down the Command, Option, R and P keys, then press the power key and keep holding the other four keys down until you've heard the startup chim

Hello Nic, Another possibility is that the update undid your navigation settings. Have you looked at them in VoiceOver Utility? Recently, all my VO settings reverted to defaults for no apparent reason and what alerted me to this, was VO speaking hints while I was reading mail. Cheers, Anne O

Hi Nic, I know what you mean about writing and re-writing phrases. I have not sen this behaviour, but it seems that this update has broken some VO things. I've noticed that sometimes it takes me some time to get VO to respond after waking up my Mac. Have you reported this to Apple? TC James
