Can an mp3 be categorized as a podcast.

I have 33 mp3 files from a seminar. I want to put them into iTunes so that I
can use on iPod. I know I can put these all in a playlist. However, I do not
want them in my music folder in my library. Can I categorize them as a
podcast? Or is it better to count them as an audio
