On my M1 MacBook Pro yesterday I set up VoiceOver to start at the login screen
all over again. When it restarted, VoiceOver worked fine. Today VoiceOver did
not start at the login screen so I was very glad to have the hint to tap twice
on the touchpad! That did work!

on a 2013 MacBook Air and in Monterey on a 2015 MacBook Air and was able to
quickly find the button with VO-right.
• open System Prefs.
• type user then press VO-space.
• VO-FN-right then a few VO-lefts to find
Hi Tim!
That was a bit hard to find but I did find it with the tab key.

I have the same issue on my old MacBook Air Intel version.

Hi,
Well, that’s an issue. They are sticking for me in Monterey 12.3 on an M1
MacBook Pro. I have had them go away after an update, but they are sticking
within a MacOS cycle for me.

They don’t stick. This is happening on some machines. I have had at least four
instructors go through these steps and I have done this myself several times. I
think there may be an issue with this feature at this time.

Hi,
Actually, In Monterey, go to Users & Groups, then unlock the pane, then select
Login Options from the Users, Groups & Login Options list. There will be a
button there called Accessibility Options. This will open a screen with a
table of accessibility options. Make sure that VoiceOver is

Probably. I am calling the thing in front of the spacebar on my MacBook Pro the
track pad because of the trackpad commanders. Not to be confused with the
touchbar above the number keys that everyone but me despises.

I wonder if that is a bug? I’ve had several experts walk me through this and
all settings are correct. Still my VO will not work on startup on my M1 MacBook
Pro. However, if I tap the track pad VoiceOver will kick in and I can enter my
password.

It is in system preferences, users, login options.
I have not got this to work on my M1 MacBook Pro nor on previous Mac mini
