I have tried Via nav, and i guess if you are not off hiking, it might work,
will have to try more though.
I am curious, what does others in europe use if you are out in the country...

There are some transit systems which post the vehicle's location real-time on
their transit feed. When this is the case, Moovit appears to access said info.

In Moovit, is it possible when you’ve made a route to see upcoming busses in
realtime, that is not only when they are estimated to arrive according to time
table but when it actually is to arrive if you understand what i mean.

I mainly use Apple Maps. I occasionally use Google Maps. When using public
transit, I use moovit.
I occasionally use BlindSquare when searching for nearby businesses.

Hello Krister,
ViaOpta Nav has acquired more features. In any case, it’s free so you can try
it without wasting money.

This is the only gripe i have about the iOs platform, that no good gps solution
exists if you live outside the US or UK and i think it’s too bad. Yes you can
use Blindsquare but personally i don’t think it’s as intuitive as it could be.
Isn’t Viaopta nav only limited to turn-by-turn instructions?
I'm not sure what it does with traffic circles but what I really like about it
is that as soon as you change direction, your new direction is spoken and the

Hello James,
I’ve just looked for Nearby Explorer in the French Appstore and it isn’t
available here. Looking at the information, it seems only to work fully in
North America and Canada.
I have several GPS apps and usually use BlindSquare which isn’t cheap, but
there are other similar options.
I wish somebody had been that positive when I was looking to purchase
either Nearby Explorer or BlindSquared. Blind Squared does have some
development going on which is good. When I use Blind Square, usually with
just Streets and MY Places being announced it will tell me the direction I

Nearby explorer is by far the best GPS app available for blind people,
none of the other ones even come close to what it provides, it's well
worth the price.

Hi James,
I use a variety of apps. First, I use Google Maps in walking mode.
Another one that I am quite fond of is called Nearby Explorer. I like
the second app more as it addresses buildings as you pass them, name
intersections, bus/train stops etc.
