Ok, all is working. But wow! I just called my VoiceMail to change a setting, and I was able to both use the keypad and hear the dtmf tones all from my iPad! So finally we may have a solution to those moments where it's hard to hear VoiceOver during a call, especially in an automated system! But

Yes! Try signing into FaceTime on your iPad, then try dialing a number from your contacts. It should work, as it did on my Macbook Pro. Note that also, you DO need both devices on the same Wifi network. So, with the phone settings I mentioned earlier, which it seems you have set, then FaceTime
