Maybe we need to tell accessibility directly we don’t think the engineering
team isn’t listening and that might put a fire under them.
I have reported that my braille display hasn’t worked on the Mac for gosh four
versions now.

messages.

It kind of seems braille support on the Mac is a bit of an after thought.
iOS works quite well.
People have given feedback but it continues to be horrible.
I just hope things improve in the next version of the OS.

Hello Anne.
Sorry for the late reply. I did do what you suggested months ago but it still
kept happening, the combination of letters which I tried to do timed out.
However, I’m waiting for more improvements re braille on the Mac but so far
nothing is happening yet about braille. I wish it wo
Hello Kawal,
Here’s a suggestion how to make it work.
Position your left hand on the computer keyboard with your little finger on the
Command key and your index finger on the letter ‘b’. Place your right hand on
your Braille display. In this way, you only have to bring your left hand to

Hello Anne.
That is my problem, I am not quick enough to sign the commands. It times out
because I am too slow.

Hello Helga,
You can assign any combination of dots and other controls to any VO command, as
long as the combination is not already used. You can also change the command
associated with any combination of dots and controls.

Hello Kawal,
To assign a command on a Braille display, press the Assign command button, then
press the Add button.
Press Cmd-b then quickly press the key combination on your Braille device that
you wish to use. You’ll then find a menu button where you can select the
appropriate action.

I already tried that with no success.

If memory serves, pair through the VoiceOver control panel rather than the
Bluetooth control panel. It has been awhile since I paired my braille display
to my Mac.

I couldn’t even get mine to connect. I may have to take it to my favorite
Apple store here and see if they can get it to connect for me. It seems as
though the four digit pin to pair doesn’t want to rear it’s face.

Hi!
Highly customizable yes but the support of or the lack of support of braille
feature isn’t worth using a braille display on the mac.

Last time I tried to assign commands, I could not do it. If someone can
explain how to do it please then that would be hhelpful as I’d like to use my
braille display with the Mac.

Braille displays are highly customiseable on the Mac. Have you looked at the
table of commands for your braille display?

Hi.
Are you connection your braille display through the Voice Utility menu? You
can’t connect it directly through the Bluetooth menu. You need to select the
Voice Utility, VO F8 and arrow down until you get to braille. I have just
connected my Focus 40 Blue to make sure and it works although
Hello there,
Is anyone else having problems still with the Focus 40 Blue display not working
