Hi,
Is this all windows when in the Finder. If so, try opening the Macintosh HD,
then press cmd-j to bring up the View options. Make sure that "Show in List"
is checked and select the sort by Name option. Close the View options window
than see how it looks.

I don't know what I've done but I have my finder view set to list and sort set
to name but the numbered files are showing up in reverse order. I want lowest
alpha&numeric files at the top of my lists but can't for the life of me work
out how to do it. I've had it working on my mac for 18 months
