Odd. I could initiate a call from the Contacts app and it worked fine. I just
expected the FaceTime app to allow me to call out as well as receive calls, but
I guess it works more like the iPhone. Well, at least now I know how to start a
call.

Hey,
I actually had no problem making a FaceTime audio call as I just tested it out.

Hi,
Actually, if you've associated your iPhone number with your Apple ID, you can
call your Mac using that iPhone number as well as your Apple ID eMail address.
It's kind of slick.

Here is what I had to do to get FaceTime Audio to work.
1 Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
2 Choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
3 Type: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
4 Click Go.
5 In the Finder window, locate the file named "NetworkInterfaces.plist" and

FaceTime audio is working fine for me. I went into FaceTime on the Mac, chose
a contact, and hit the FaceTime audio button. It rang and my call was
connected with no problems at all.

I just called a contact using FaceTime Audio. I chose the all contacts radio
button, and in the search field I wrote the name of the person I wanted to
call. I interacted with the scroll area, and and then with the contacts table
and chose the phone number. I then pressed the face time audio but
Right, but how do I call out? If I'm on the Mac, how to I place a FaceTime
audio call to a contact?

It dropped a few hours ago.
To stay on topic for this thread, how do you FaceTime someone on the Mac? I
don't have a camera, so haven't been able to do so until just now, but the
FaceTime app has nothing at all in it. What's the secret to calling on a Mac
using FaceTime? My whole family uses iP
Hi,

I heard that it was coming but have not heard an official announcement.
Thanks.

Don't know. That's been happening to me even before 10.9.0 came out. Come to
think of it, that's been going on ever since IOS 7.0.0. IF you ask me, I
reckon there's a network issue at the Face time server end of things. It'll
fail and you have to call right back. So, just to see what happen
Hi,
Are you able to make a FaceTime Video call to the same individual? A reminder
that FaceTime is only for calls between Apple ID's or iPhone numbers registered
to your Apple ID. If you are able to make the FaceTime video call, but not the
audio call, then either the person you're trying to
I am having the same problem. Every time I try to make the face time audio call

Hello everyone,
I have successfully installed Mavericks 10.9.2.
I have attempted to make a FaceTime audio call from within the Messages app.
However, when pressing VO-space on the "audio" button, I get a two-tone beep,
and a Message indicating "FaceTime audio has failed."
Does anyone have any sug
