Oh, please could you explain how to do what you refer to as the “VO-Return

I know of no way to get iBooks to read continuously on the Mac. I rarely use

Hi,,
Thanks a lot for the IText Express recommendation. It reads Nook books well.
I've tried with the free samples. I don't know anything about Kolbo, so can't
say as to whether this app wil read them or not.

That's because the iBooks are DRM protected. What they need to do is have a
Mac version of iBooks. You can't open the epub files with Stanza or anything
else because of the DRM.

I once read an article that put forth a theory for this. Consider that a great
deal of Apple's iBooks are textbooks, and that people who read books (text or
not) often do it while out and about, or on the couch, or at the table, or
other places that aren't in front of their computers. Now consid
Wait So if I want to read iBooks I've purchased for my iPhone on
the Mac, I cannot do this? That seems a bit stupid on Apple's part.
You would think they would want to make things you do work just as
well with the Mac as with iDevices. Wow. That's a shame.

Hi, all,
Stanza seems to have reappeared on CNET. Here's a link:
http://download.cnet.com/Stanza/3000-2056_4-198177.html
The first heading on the page is "Stanza for Mac". VO-right once, and the
download link will appear. It says "download now secure download".

Hi,
I'm sorry, I should have clarified. I didn't mean IBooks, I know that only the
IOs IBOoks app can only do iBooks, and nothing else can.
I want to give IText Express a try. Does that read Nook books? I'm thinking of
making an account for that, since I found out that nook books are accessib
Hi.
Another alternative to both stanza and Adobe is iText Express, free on the Mac
App Store.
I know that this app can read ePub formatted ebooks, but not books that you
have purchased in iBooks it's self. I'm not sure what other formats it can read.
Give it a try, its free.
HTH.

Yes, this is correct; I apologize if you were asking about iBooks. IBooks with
an "i" and ebooks with an e don't sound the same on my computer but the one
with an i does sound like ebooks with an e should sound. Guess i'll have to fix
that in pronunciation.

Hello Brianna,
Adobe Digital Editions works for reading ebooks, but not iBooks, on the Mac. As
far as I know, there is no way of reading iBooks on anything but an idevice.
Adobe Digital Editions can read quite a number of DRM protected formats
including Kobo and Nook.

Hi,
I was wondering if there are any EBook readers for the Mac? I know that there
used to be Stanza, but I heard that Stanza was broken. I'd just like to be able
to read Ebooks on something other than the iDevices using either iBooks or
Nook.
Thanks for your help,
Brianna

Hi Edward ,
The books you buy through Itunes are to my knowledge are audio books
from audible.
They get put in your audio books folder and cannot be read by Alex but
are usually broken into chapters.

I am somewhat confused. How does one take a book that was bought in iTunes
and turn it into mp3 to play on the iphone? I would like the Alex voice to
read the book. Also can I have the book automatically broken up into
chapters?
Thanks

Hi,
Just a quick addition: In Ibis reader Voice Over reads through a
chapter, but the first page doesn't update. However, if you want to
move to a later page in that chapter, you could toggle VoiceOver off,
and simply tap the right side of the screen the number of pages you
wanted to mov
