Not sure right now. But for example, why does it bother with the initials?
That’s an unnecessary distraction, I think. Then when I do find a contact in
the list, it’s a pain to find the field I need to edit or add. Maybe it’s just
me, but it’s definitely not as intuitive as other apps.

This problem is now solved. You select the desired contact and do 1 finger
double tap to open it. You then do a 1 finger double tap on the edit button.

wouldn't help. I suggest that you turn off iCloud syncing on the iPhone, and
when it asks you if you wish to keep the contacts or remove them from this

Many thanks for your reply. Contacts are set on in iCloud on my iPhone but the
contact I cannot delete is not synced. Other contacts are synced. Possibly
significant is that this is a 10 year old contact which has been migrated over

Try turning Off and On the contacts option by going to Settings > Passwords
& Accounts and then try to delete the contacts or else Turn Off the Contact
option and then try to delete it.
After doing this restart your phone once.

Hi,
Is Contacts checked in your iCloud settings on the iPhone. If yes, then that
contact card should be in iCloud automatically. If no, then turn Contacts on
in your iCloud settings and let things sync up. See if it cooperates any
better after that.

I am running IOS 13.3.1 on my iPhone 8. I am having difficulty deleting a
contact which exists only on my iPhone (not in iCloud) and who has a birthday
which appears in my calendar. I can delete other contacts but not this one. I
also cannot edit the contact to delete the birthday.
