Disconnect the USB drives from the Mac then reconnect them an

I have not used fusion for a while, but when I did, I used to set it to
always connect USB devices to the virtual machine. The reason I did it
this way was, I would only have fusion open if I was using windows for
something, so that's where the USB device should go. I always had the
virtual mac
Anders, are you running Fusion version 10? Seems the 10.1 version
broke this. I have mine set to Ask what to do, then with the drive
disconnected from the Mac, booted the VM then connected the drive and I
got the dialog to connect the drive. Try that.

I was wondering if perhaps disk drives were only connected to the Mac much
like keyboards, but this is not the case. There is a checkbox when choosing
where to connect a USB device that says don't ask me again. Did you
perchance click this at some point?
