Look at "Enable Live Regions" in the web area of VoiceOver utility this might
help You could also attempt to turn down verbosity, for Web sites I use a lot
like GMAIL, I tend to find them better to work with when set to verbosity low.

Hi everyone,
There’s an app on the web I’m using for transcribing text. As I’m entering text
into the field, though, I’m hearing a clicking tone, like what you might hear
when a progress bar is updating. I hear it every second or so as I am typing,
which gets incredibly annoying.
