these are things where if a sighted person hovers the mouse over them, you get
choices.
If you do a vo shift m on them, you will get a menu to make choices from in
regards to the clickable item.

It means the text can be interacted by clicking with the mouse. Unfortunately,
it depends on the webmaster coding the site whether VoiceOver can activate the
clickable text or not.

Hello Jean,
Often, clickable items are places where either a mouse hover or a mouse click
will change what is shown on the page. Try bringing the mouse with VO-Cmd-F5
and doing a VO-Shift-Space type of click and see whether new items have
appeared.

Hello All:
What does it mean in Safari when an item says “clickable?” Is it a link? When
I hit VO space on such items nothing happens. Can someone please explain?
Many thanks,
Jean

When you press vo-cmd-f5, does VO speak the clickable item again? If not, your
mouse may not be being moved; try vo-cmd-function-f5.

Hi Alex,
Have tried your suggestions, and unless I'm doing something wrong, which is
definitely possible--I'm still not getting anywhere. I've tried every key
combination possible, but I can't get the system to make the mouse click that I
am used to hearing after the F5 trick...VO space isn't
Hi,
Sometimes the return key will work as well.

Try vo shift m.
alternatively, you can try option enter.
If neither of those things works, try using the track pad to click on the items.

Vo-space should work. If not, move to the item, press vo-cmd-f5 (you might need
to add the function key as well), and then click the mouse. If you lack a
mouse, use vo-shift-space to simulate a click.

Hi All,
I am attempting to navigate a page that has what voiceover is calling clickable
items--but when I try to click on them as I would a link nothing happens.
There are no links, just these frustrating clickable items.
If anyone knows a way to access these I would sure appreciate the ass
