I, too, do not use a Gmail address for this group. When you sign up, you can
use a non-GMail address but you do create a Google account per say and in the
process, you create a Google password. When you use these credentials, you are
able to change the List settings for this group.

That’s a bit of a problem. I don’t seem to have a password. I asked via this
group to be subscribed with a non-gmail account. Now when I go to the page
you’ve kindly suggested, I get asked for a password and I don’t have one so I

You shouldn't need a gmail account. I don't use one as I'm on AOL email.
You can fiddle with your account settings by going to groups.google.com
and find the signin link near the top of the page. Use your email
address and password to get in. Once you're in find open up the
MacVisionaries group
