On an internal network, this really shouldn't be an issue. Are you still using
an Apple TV 3? If so, that might be part of the issue. My son still uses an
Apple TV 3 as well and finds that his media loads rather slowly compared to my
Apple TV 4 HD. It may have to do with processing spee
My iTunes library is on an external drive. Suppose that instead of
the wi-fi, it is the drive? Is there a way to test this out and see? If
I can get my hands on an extender I could see if that helps or not, but
have not found one yet.

first install it, it will play about 8 or 10 songs just fine and then stop
