This works indeed. And its doable. I sernt an email to Apple about
it, maybe someday. But at least there is a simple work around. Thanks
for that idea.

That is an interesting idea. I will try that and have the Mac and
iPhone connected at the same time. To have the phone unlock with
notifications while I am on the Mac would surely send me off the cliffs.
But it might be useful to do sometime. No, not send me over the cliffs. :)

I just tested this.
1. If you are using bluetooth, apparently you don't get your display up until
after login.
2. With the edge, you can log in with the display on usb and then switch to
bluetooth and the display should come up again just fine. It doesn't matter
whether or not you unplug the usb
I haven't tried it but I think you can just pull the usb plug and if necessary

bluetooth is really great; I would like to eventually see an upgraded model or
maybe an upgrade to the firmware that would allow one to swi
Forgot about USB. Now I remember why that USB cable is sitting on
top of the Mac. :) Will connect to USB and try it. Can one break the
YUSB connection and switch to Bluetooth? Put the Mac to sleep and do that?
And using the Edge with the iPhone via Bluetoth at the same time?

Yes, those are my settings too. Are you using it as bluetooth or usb? I usually
use it with usb on my Macs because then I can switch back and forth as I use it
with bluetooth with my i-devices. I haven't tried to see when the display
connects to the computer if using bluetooth.

I have the Edge too. The settings I have for login is, no automatiic

password after I choose my account. Is yours set up the same?

Hmmm, as far as I know, that should do it. My braille edge comes up at the
login screen and I don:t think I did anything special to get it to work other
than enabling voiceover at login.

Cheryl,
That option is checked. Where else might I look? I have been poking
around and have lost track of where I looked already. Voiceover Utilty?
I looked there but did not see what I needed. Thanks.

Yes, if you get voiceover at login this should include braille at login. Go
into System Preferences > user accounts and interact with the table and go down
to login options. Then stop interacting and go right looking for something
about having voiceover on at login and check that box. This shoul
Forgive me if I asked this before but my memory is not up to it
today. When I turn on the Mac, VO works of course but nothing on the
braille display until I have logged in. Is it possible to get braille at
the login screen? If not, I will live with it. Thanks.
