question is how that option gets checked in the first place.

Here is the recent post I made to the list about opening XML files in Safari.
Please note to enable the "Develop" menu, go into Safari preferences with
command+comma, then go to the advanced tab, and you should have an option in
there to enable the develop menu, which is what

not work well with screen readers. I just want to be able to open the files in
my browser and read, as before. There is nothing which indicates this shouldn't
be possible any longer; in fact, Bookshare specifically

there is a software called read out loud and there is a version for Mac to read
bookshare books. This is what I have been using although it is a bit buggy at
times. Hope this helps. You can get it from bookshare.org website.

Just did a software update yesterday and am having trouble opening bookshare
xml books in Safari, as others described recently. Can't seem to find the
threads on this -- at least not the ones discussing solutions. Looked on
bookshare.org, and their support center FAQs link does not appear to be
