Indeed there is. I don't like having to open System Preferences just to do
this, and I hoped there would be a cleaner way. After all, if you're going to
run a script that has to open the Time Machine preference pane anyway, it's
little different from opening and reading the pane yourself, at lea
TimeMachine uses the System Preference pane to control it, and there is useful
information in the system control pane like Disk size and backup status.
So we could probably find the “id” string of the time machine preference panel,
