Hi list,
I would like some info about talking thermostats for a gas boiler.
Autonomous talking or fully accessible via application. The gas boiler I own
is Buderus.
Thanks in advance

Yeah. My choice is rapidly narrowing to the Nest over the simple fact of
IPv6 support.
At this point I'm mainly waiting for my utility to once again offer
incentives.

Hi folks,
I’m late to this thread. I wanted to add that in some areas, my state of
Vermont, and some other states there are consumer agencies that promote saving
energy that will help with the cost of some of these devices. In my case I was
able to purchase to eligible devices for about $400.
Very interesting. They publish an API. That's very promissing ...

Hi Janina,
I don't know HVAC. But in our current home, we have a new furnace installed
last summer. And it does seem to me that Nest doesn't interact with it as
accurately as it did with our older furnace. For instance, it seems to take
two hours to heat up our house, despite the fact that w
Well, I can find no reference to IPv6 in any Google search I've tried.
Worst of all, it looks like the web location yourhome.honneywell.com is
important to these devices, and it shows no IPv6 support. So, Honeywell
is now off my list.
Even worse, it seems they've outsourced this web location, whi

Must admit, I do not know, but the app is completely accessible and I set it up
myself—after my HVAC guy installed it on my wall.

Mika:
Does your Nest give you multiple sensors to spread around your dwelling?
Or does it gage temperature only from the main unit?
I'd like to have a couple additional sensors spread around. So, I'm
wondering.

Hi, Donna:
Will do. I'll update after making my decision and installing. As I said,
though, I might go with Nest after all. I don't need temerature changes
as I work from home, and am rarely out.
I should probably add I didn't understand my hvac guy myself. But, what
I did understand from him is
Thanks for the info .

Hi,
I have been using the Nest thermostat for a while, and I like it,
other than the setting to review and modify the schedule is not
accessible.
So I use many of the features outside of the schedule.
Also the schedule is typically built just by the thermostat watching

Okay ,I will let you know .

I am using the Lyric Honeywell thermostat and I don't have any issues with it.

I just got the Lyric T5 and I am very happy with it. It works with Homekit and
with my Google Home speakers.

Janina,
I agree about the scheduled temperature changes. It doesn't work as well as it
might. Post back and let us know what you decide to get. I've been overall
happy with the Nest, but it's not without its flaws. And we will be moving
again within the next couple of years, so I am paying
That is good to know .

My buildings hvac contractor was in my condo the other week over an
unrelated issue. Because I'm considering a wifi enabled thermostat, I
asked him about Nest. He was frustrated by them not understanding how
some of their algorithms do not, according to him, work correctly with
newer hvac systems.
Hi
We just got the Ecobee 4. The thermostat works with HomeKit, and allows the
use of room sensors, unlike the nest. The app isn’t the greatest, but once you
have it set up with HomeKit, you don’t really need the app for that much.

Hi Ben,
We use the nest thermostat. I like it very well, the iPhone app is quite
accessible. Setting up the schedule can be a bit of a trick, but otherwise it
works well.Cheers,

I am looking for a thermostat that works well with the iPhone and /or mac.
I am wondering what members on the group are using . I just moved into a
new home and the thermostat is not very blind friendly .
Thanks , Ben
