It's the Messenger app and the latest update. I was having this issue on iOS 16.6 starting a few weeks ago, and it's still happening with iOS 17. FB will periodically break Messenger in their updates. The only advice I can give is to contact FB Accessibility. They might or might not do anything abo
I’ve been on the beta team for a while and this feedback has been given many
times. They know about it and are hopefully working on adding that feature. It
never hurts to add your voice to the clammer though.

I use it daily for work. I’m not a huge fan of it, but it does work well enough
to read messages in channels and sending messages.
