Okay, I think I got it. In VoiceOver Utility, under navigation, mouse pointer needs to ignore VoiceOver curser. I previously had mine set to follows VoiceOver curser. When I changed it, the mailboxes with the folders were read as their name, rather than "blank expand". Brett C.
