had thunderbolt 2 ports, which as I finally understand now after a little more
research, is obsolete technology now that thunderbolt 3 and 4 are the standard.
I did not realize that these ports take the standard USB-C c
I had long ago decided on the M4 with 512gigs drive for $799.
