I have tried it several times. about the only options presented to me are "save
to files" an tags. nothing about reading anywhere.

window within the mail app.
I suggest you go back and try it again.

Try a double tap and hold on the button that opens the attachment. This may open a context menu. I haven’t checked what options are in there, but a Web search suggests there should be an option to choose the application with which to open the file. From: 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries Date: Mond
