Everything's USB now, whether it's A, C, or Thunderbolt. All monitors
are HDMI, no more VGA. Yes, you can certainly get Y adapters.

I would suggest getting a top of the line AIR instead of a base model MacBook
Pro. They should be about the same price but the additional memory and storage
will probably be more beneficial then Ray tracing or a few more cores in the
processor.
But then I’m still running a 2015 Mac Book Air 11.
can you tell me how to download Alex?
I should probably get a mixer. I’d probably only need about 8 channels. I’m
just a folkie after all.

Alex must be downloaded.
The problem with your audio isn't the Mac, it's probably your Y adapter.
You are correct that Mac Mini's don't have microphones. Your last one
didn't, either. Mine from 2012 didn't and the one from 2020 doesn't. I

how do I get the junk folder to come up? I’ve located everything else quite

I have some more questions. this is a 2023 Mac. Mini and it’s running Ventura.
on my old one I had a Y in which were plugged my speakers and my headphones.
that isn’t working very well on this one. is there a way to have both plugged
in to this computer? there’s no place for a microphone either
I currently use a MacBook Air 2013 and maybe it's the season, but I'm thinking
of upgrading. I'm looking at a base model MacBookPro 14 inch with the m3 chip.
I'm not a power user anymore so I'm thinking this will do fine.
I'm just wondering about a few things such as, is the M2 chip in the 15 inc

So what’s the benefit of this Terminal screen reader over just using VoiceOver?
I’ve used the terminal in Mac since I got my first Mac 13 years ago and never
had a problem with it.

Jonathan,
Thanks for the pointer on that terminal screen reader. Instal was a snap and it
works great for what it does. Alpine and Lynx are working well for example as
are basic terminal commands and reading the output.
