Apple sells an adapter that allows you to use earphones and charge the phone at
the same time.
I was one of those who got really mad when Apple discontinued the headphone
jack, but now I love the Beets Flex, the 79.00 headphones that connects using
the A1 chip, I think.

Why don't you just use the adapter that is sold by Apple. It cost $10 USD, and
works flawlessly. I've been using it for years without any issues whatsoever.
