I use Zoom on my Mac all the time, and never experience problems like you
describe.
Try the following, and see if it helps:
1. Always use a headset with external microphone. Open Zoom Preferences >
Audio, and make sure the headset is selected as your output and input sources.
2. Turn TrackPad
