Mary, you’ve probably already done this, but just to be sure, go into Settings > Messages. Make sure that “Send as SMS when iMessage isn’t available” is set to on, and then also a little below that there’s a section called SMS/MMS, make sure that MMS Messaging is set to on. Hope that other than

Suddenly unable to send text messages?

We are on vacation, but I have a cell connection on my T-Mobile phone an iPhone. For some reason, when I try to send text messages to a couple of people who do not own iPhones, people to whom I have previously sent messages, I’m getting notifications that the message send failed. I don’t get it.
