sadly the moderator resurrected it by his insecurities. Then perhaps realizing
he made a mistake by adding his comments, he closed the thread. I just

I’m not sure how to use spotlight search. No I don’t use time machine for
backups, as far as I know. I have an external hard drive that backs up
automatically.

Hi folks,
Details, as is often the case with me might make things more confusing, so
will only add more to the question if it is not clear.

Jonathan,
Since you read PDFs under Windows, you know there is an
Accessibility submenu item that will check the document's accessibility
features or lack thereof.
This is missing in Preview. I may try the Adobe Reader version for
the Mac. May also try Skim.

Hi fellow listers,
I’ve been adding a lot of devices to my home network. about 7 Amazon

Did you open it? Are you absolutely positive that app does not exist
anywhere on your system? If you did not see a Download button, its not gone.
Do you use Time Machine for backups?
Did you use Spotlight as I suggested and search for "finereader.app"?

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for re-assigning the subject-line.
I joined the “apple world” with a second-hand “MacMini”” running “Tiger”, as a
“Blinddy” and was soon over the moon with my newly found independence. I was
then able to read, track my financial affairs, without troubling my ever
