Who’s dumb idea was it to disable the chime anyway. I mean that’s Apple’s
thing, their trademark, I mean really they always had an interesting startup
sound starting from the Apple 2 on up. I’m going to try to figure this out now
that I know a solution exists.

Well apparently, there is a terminal command to get the chimes back on newer
max. Unfortunately, I don’t know it. I just saw that there was a command on
YouTube.

The Macs no longer have a chime on boot up, at least the new crop of laptops
doesn’t. You get the same beep the iPhone makes when you apply power but no
more chime and frankly I miss the chime and wish it weren’t removed.

The missing element here is, unlike the Mac, the iPhone does not
emit a chime when its powered on. Its a lengthy wait until it boots and
VO sounds off. A long wait to find out if it actually turned on.

I have always wished the very same. It's annoying that we have no
power up or down sound.

I think we will see many app developers have already fallen by the
wayside.

Apple sent out emails to all app developers today informing them of the need to
upgrade to 64 bit, so I suspect it is only a matter of time until apps are
recompiled and ready for IOS 11.

Ramy,
All 32bit apps will die when one upgrades to iOS 11. Best course of
action is for you to contact the developers of any such apps and inquire
if they plan to update those apps.

I’m not sure just what problem you’re trying to have addressed here. Once you
scan in a document and the OCR application has processed it, the file will be
properly aligned. Are you talking about working with the actual hardcopy
document?
If that be the case, simply position the first or last
