Great points made by all.
Like Alex there are just some tasks that I'll always use a Mac or
Windows laptop for.
Working with large documents, polishing my resume, spread sheet stuff
are all things I find much faster when using the computer as a pose to
my various mobile devices.

Keyboard commands are the main reason I prefer Mac (or Windows) to a
mobile-only solution. Yes, iOS is getting them solely, but they aren't there
yet, at all. Even then, some are iPad-specific, so thinking of an iPhone or
iPod as the primary doesn't work. On my Mac, right now, I could hit cmd-ta
No, I love my mac. I'll be hartbroken when it dies. It's just that between
my ipod and my android, there's really nothing short of the convenience of
having done things a certain way for years to justify a new macbook. Which is
pretty slim justification if you think about it.

Why would you be on your last macbook? Do you not like the mac?

Not I, but I can assure you I am on my last macbook.
Hi, I did have a look at activity monitor today when I happened to be sitting
in front of my computer and heard the fan spin up.
I'm sure I'm missing something, but it wasn't apparent to me which piece of
info showed the disk space usage. Do I have to do something special to see
that item?

Sounds like you might have deleted the wifi service. Just re-add it in
that same area.
If that doesn't work, then under location, try creating a new location,
instead of using automatic, and see if that helps.
I highly doubt you've broken your wifi.

Dear List, I wanted to use the migration assistant to move stuff from one mac
to another, but I have recently changed wifi networks and the assistant started
searching my old network, instead of my new one. So I went into network
preferences, to try and delete the old network, by hitting delete

Braille Blaster is written in Java, which makes sense for cross-platform
compatibility. However, I don't know how--or if--one can work with Java to make
a Mac project in Xcode. Plus, their site claims that 10.9.3 is the most
recently tested OS X version, and Braille Blaster didn't work on it. Cl
Hi!
I don’t know if John Boyer still works on braille blaster.
But i guess the code is on the internet somewhere.

Hi!
You can’t compare nvda with cobra.
Cobra is meant to be used with a braille display and nvda is meant to use with
a speech synthesizer.
Nvda has braille support and of course you can use that to read mail and write
text with but you never gonna use that with more advanced features of windows.
Time Machine should work with a suitably configured NAS with a recent version
of netatalk running. It is not my preferred route—I’d much rather access the
NAS directly over the network and have the NAS performing snapshots either to a
RAID or an external cloud storage service—but it should work
