For testing purposes, why not simply go under the Startup Disk pane of System
Prefs and select your USB drive. If the System on the drive is blessed
properly, then it will show up in the Startup Disk choices.

First, have you created a bootable clone of your external drive? You can use a
program such as super duper or carbon copy cloner to do this. For me at least,
pressing the right arrow twice does the trick.

I don't know how to help you find a driver but I thought I would let
you know that I installed both windows 7 and JAWS on a new Mac book Pro using a
external new super drive from Apple and it just worked. I don't remember but
perhaps I did turn it on under devices in VM Fu
control+F5 will place you on (or near) the back button in the toolbar - its
a system shortcut.

Thanks Alex. It worked. It didn't at first but when I restarted my Mac, the
new keyboard shortcut worked great. I used Traci's key combination of option n.

The DB is an integral part of the book number. stands for Digital Book. I
think the NLS player needs that file name protocol so when you go into
"bookshelf mode," (holding down the play button till it falls off or says
Bookshelf), it can identify them.

What do you mean by headers? Vo-shift-down (vo-shift-funciton-right in your
case, on a macbook) will move vo focus to the end of whatever it is interacting
with. So, interact with whatever you want to jump to the end of, then issue
that command. If you use it a lot, it might be worth a keyboard
Nicecast sounds really good from what I have read of it. You can either
broadcast from a local server hosted on your network or you can use an
online service like Icecast or Shoutcast to broadcast over the internet.
