Hi, There is no need to defrag a Mac. The Mac does its own optimizing in the middle of the night, on the weekend and another one once a moth. Just don't turn off the computer and it will do everything by itself. It doesn't hurt to go into Disk Utility and do a Repair Disk Permissions once in

In system Preferences under the general pane, this will disable resuming for all applications and their windows. The only way I know of to disable the resume feature for a single application is to lock the file in your user library in the save application state folder for that application.
