Except the Mini has no monitor, no battery, no built-in keyboard. Add all of
those things, and it costs more than the MacBook.

The only things that the Mini has going for it are that it is the least
expensive Mac, and that it is the smallest Mac.
Being inexpensive doesn't mean that it is a good bargain, though, only that it
is the least expensive way to get some kind of Mac.
Being small is important for some special si

Hi all,

do I set up to share the screen of the PCC on the mini?
Thanks for any help.

Actually you can get a Mini with a 2.53Ghz processor and 4Gb of DDR 3 ram. So,
they are comparable to a Macbook.

Well, unfortunately, many of the portable players simply don't support .ogg. I
have no idea why, because, as you pointed out, it's open source. However, it
might be a memory thing or, whatever. I am not that knowledgeable about
encoders, but, I do know that a lot of portable players lack .ogg

Yes, I have it, mostly with hTML emails, but, sometimes, with text as well.
When using HTML, sometimes, doing command option P to convert it to text works,
other times it doesn't!
I have had this problem ever since I had my mini, and, several updates haven't
addressed it.

Interesting. Mine should arrive tomorrow, and I hope I don't regret being an

Hello James,
I use MP3 so that all my iTunes library is compatible with my Milestone 311
which I had before getting an iPod. It saves me from messing around converting
files. Oh, yes, and my hearing just isn't keen enough anymore to hear the
difference.
Cheers,

FYI, ogg is not lossless, it's lossey compression. Tons of information are
being discarded. Some people claim it sounds better than mp3 encoding but it's
just not as widely supported. More importantly, the reason why it appeals to
some is that there are no licensing fees.

Well, two easy answers.
1. mp3 is just well integrated into the ecosphere with strong and often
default support in both software and devices for many platforms. Just
like Internet Explorer for some is the internet, mp3 for some is the
standard audio file. That's not a technical problem.
2. I
Even when loaded you can do other stuff. It will just slip the work into

Hi list,
Lyn and I were talking earlier, and we were wondering why people continue to
use MP3 files when there are lossless formats such as OGG? Some people are able
to hear the difference between something ripped at 320 kpbs and 160 kpbs for
example. My question is, why do people continue to
