Hi Lauren, It is definitely not normal for the status menu to stop appearing. What happens if you use Control-F8 from Finder instead of VO-M twice? You should be able to use the regular Mac keyboard shortcuts as well as VO-M, so Control-F2 from Finder is an alternative way to navigate t
