Horde is very actively maintained. Don't stop at that download page with
the very old stable version. Check out their github site and many FAQ's on
the wiki site.
Horst, perhaps bring your compatibility questions directly to Horde. See
if there is anything about it in their github issues, etc.
I am currently testing Horde 6 alpha, which works with php8.2 and I have no
issues with the mail and calendar parts, only the address book has some minor
issues with clients syncing. I will migrate to this one, for mail and contacts
