Check the /opt/local/bin directory for the mail or mailx command, which you
should use.
instead of just using mail, use the full path /opt/local/bin/mail or
/opt/local/bin/mailx.

Hi,
I’ve installed postfix and have configured it similarly to how I have it
configured on some Linux systems using this tutorial

when I install and configure postfix in macOS [and make some slight changes

this is? What am I missing or not taking into

Also, given all of the above workaround as another reason I would just love
the selective span range to just work for smartctl testing, but that's an
Apple problem.

I wonder why Apple doesn't want to allow the selective test range...?

Any suggestions on how to look into this further?Perhaps build
smartmontools from source and test? Has anyone gotten the selective range
to work for scanning from installing smartmontools from macports?

Hi Everyone,
The macports package of smartmontools doesn't seem to support selective
span testing ranges.
When the command is executed, the command is sent, but the program fails
with an "Unsopported SMART self-test mode":
Ubences-MacBook-Pro:~ uquevedo$ smartctl -t select,0-10 /dev/disk0
smartct
